Bible in a Year Plans
We all need the daily bread of God's Word to truly live. Melissa Kruger gives us some very good reasons why [TheGospelCoalition]. Since God's word is so vital to our daily lives, a reading plan is a great way to be intentional about it. I have provided two kinds of Bible-in-a-year plan in calendar mode to help with your reading:
Classic Plan The blue-coded plan starts from Genesis and continues through to Revelation.
Parallel Plan The green-coded plan parallels the Old and New Testaments, from Genesis and Matthew to Malachi and Revelation.
If you have a gmail, you can add this calendar to your Google Calendar using the link at the bottom of the calendar. That way your calendar will give you daily reminders.
What next? With a plan all you now need to do is to begin. Start!

- Set aside a time in the day that you can routinely stick to.
- Sufficient time to pray - read - reflect, would be good.
- Write whatever you reflect on and whatever you feel God may be speaking to you about, anything you'll need to
action.
So you'll need a pen and a book or journal, one I like. - Outside your study time, share what you have been reflecting on with friends, family, church or any circle.
- And see God change your daily life.
- Although our aim is daily reading, the reality is that...
Sometimes you'll miss a day - What to do then, is not to stop or give up your reading routine...
Remember, the more you read the deeper you go both in knowledge and relationship - What to do is to continue, there are two ways you can pick up again:
- Skim & read: means you skim through the missed plan and continue normally "pray-read-reflect" with that day's one.
- Read in pile: means you continue normally "pray-read-reflect" from the missed plan to that day's one, all in that day.
- Reach out to God…pray about it, His Spirit is on this exciting devotional journey with you to help you understand.
- And, reach out to people…talk to a Christian friend or your local church pastor. So take note of the things you don't quite get.
- Also, what has helped me and many other friends is to avoid googling or researching during your reading time.
See it as a time with God, because it is. So rather than getting into ‘detective mode’ with the text, practice reaching out to God in this time. You'd be pleasantly surprised at the extent to which God enjoys speaking with you.
Of course, in your spare time, you can google, phew :) Enjoy reading.
